Variable Load Type Spring Hangers And Supports

Variable load type spring hangers and supports are used for supporting and carrying pipeline at required spans, without preventing the vertical movement of the pipe subject to thermal changes. There is a wide range of application, the only restriction being the range of travel. Since the pipe load is carried directly by the spring, the vertical travel of pipe during operation causes a variation in the reaction force exerted by the spring. The calculated operation load and travel are used in choosing the load group and travel group of the unit. The cold set load thus found according to the performance characteristics of the selected unit is the pre-set pinning load. In choice, care should be taken to keep the percent of  load variation, with respect to operation load below 25%.
